    • Agility
Vocal agility is the skill in being able to sing complicated, fast combinations of notes, patterns that are unnatural to speech, and accurately singing big or awkward intervals.
Agility Combo This first exercise is to explain what you need to do. It's scored in C so it's easy to look at on the stave, but we will start lower when we take the full exercise. It's also slower to help you get started. The full exercise is faster than this. Make sure you're clear about what you need to do before moving on. Full workout is available here (£2) >> Audio <<

    • Developing Volume and Power
Power and volume comes from strength and condition, which must be freely produced and well supported at all times. Please don't move on to these types of workouts until your confident you can support your voice and avoid straining for the majority of the time while your singing.

    • Negotiating the Bridge
There are transitions in our voiced between lower, middle and upper registers. This can be called the 'passagio', 'break point' or 'bridge point'. These workouts are to develop and maintain strength and fitness over the bridge.
Upper Passagio Transitioning from the middle voice into our upper range remains one of the greatest challenges I see singers contend with. Just like having a day in the gym for your legs and another day for your back etc.. this is an area that we work on in Sing Fit. Every time we do a full vocal stretch or melodic exercise that takes you all the way up, we are working on this skill. In this class, I explicitly target exercises for finding and working with your edges, using sounds that get efficient and effective results. Have fun!

    • Tuning
Hello! Everyone worries about singing out of tune - this is something we can train on. 2 things to understand 1) Singing sharp = above/higher than the intended pitch - usually this is tension. Refer to units on tension release / achieving a freely produced sound to help with this. 2) Singing flat = below than the intended pitch. (This is not the same as a dull/lifeless sound). Usually this is a breathing issue. Refer to the units on breathing and singing with support to help with this. If you'd like to have a play with this app (it's an outside purchase of about £5.99) you can sing into the app and it will give you a visual reference as to how close you are to the intended pitch.
