A Big Thank You…

June 30, 2015

Mount Folly Fest 2015 - Bridgette photos

To everyone who attended the Mount Folly Charity Festival on 28th June…

THANK YOU so much for attending the event on Sunday. I have had a huge amount of feedback – all positive – saying what a lovely day it was. We have raised more than last year, and still counting, so a huge huge thank you to all of you for your support. There are so many people to thank – all the businesses, all the performers and all the members of the public who came and enjoyed the day with us this year. These charities are both very special to me since The Rowans has provided end of life care for 2 of my family members. Many of us struggle to care for our elderly, and without charities like The Rowans it would be even more difficult. I began working with a children’s hospital abroad in a charitable way when was 18 years old, and have very much enjoyed working with Naomi House locally, on my return to the UK. I have learned that many people I know have used their facilities, and contrary to my previous belief, it is not uncommon for people to have terminally ill children. Naomi House do a wonderful job of building beautiful memories for families in dire circumstances – it’s not just nurses and respite care – they support children to really live while they can. I have been invited by Naomi House to visit their facility again this year, given that they have had additional costs to refurbish the old unit over the last 18months, as a lot of much needed equipment had become dated (this was called the Caterpillar Appeal, launched last year).

I would like to say a personal thank you for enabling us to help these much needed services in our home communities.

We had people drive to us from Bognor to attend, and businesses from all over Hampshire. We had homemade cakes (and singing) from the Igloo Choir, wonderful tombola prizes donated by all the businesses, Purely Ice Cream 99s, face painting from SO Parties and beer donated by Mike from Wickham Beer festival to name but a few.

I am exceptionally proud, as always, of our own Igloo members for their performances – the choir, Igloo Band, Quinzhee and soloists all supported this event in song, cake, energy and no doubt cash. Many of our members did their first performance at this event, and everyone gave a lot of soul to be part of it.

There are so many good people out there doing what they can to help, in their own individual way, and I just want to say thank you.

Due to popular demand we have already set a date for next year – 26th June.

Thank you very much from myself personally, on behalf of Igloo Music UK, Mount Folly Nurseries and the whole team
