Carolyn Stallard – ‘lovely songs and a beautiful voice’..
June 20, 2014Carolyn is a lively member of Igloo Music, and always there to support others – her efforts to reform the Spice Girls for last year’s summer party will always be remembered as a highlight! Here is what Carolyn has to say about her experience with Igloo so far….

Singing…
“I’ve been involved with the Igloo Music ‘family’ for almost 3 years now. I started by joining the ‘singing essentials’ 3 part course via Groupon & I’ve met some fantastic, talented people & learned loads. When I first joined, all I had experience of was
karaoke & singing in the chorus in pantomime (Oh yes I did!!) but I’ve always loved singing…

When the course finished, I joined The Igloo Choir. It’s a small friendly group, about 12 of us and I sing with the ‘girls on top’ although I often get sent to the naughty chair! We meet twice a month, write our own songs & have recently recorded 3 of them at River Studios. We have performed at various places including an amazing session at The Mary Rose Museum last year, Hayling Island Plaza & at a wedding! The choir also benefitted from a performance coaching session this year with Chris Wood.
The Igloo Showcase…
Igloo put on a showcase performance in March each year and I have had some private lessons with Dielle which has helped me to progress and perform a few solo’s & lots of group songs too. We also have the Igloo Music Jam Night every month, which is a great place to try out any new songs either on your own, in a duet (and a blow-up saxophone!) or with the group. By the end of the evening we have everyone on stage together!
Waterlooville Music Festival 2014…
Last weekend was a huge challenge for me as, for the first time ever, I performed at the Waterlooville Music Festival. I sang five solos with backing tracks and really enjoyed it… What made me feel great was, as I was leaving Waterlooville later that afternoon, a lady came over to me & said how lovely the songs were & that I had a beautiful voice – Wow! That’s an amazing compliment from a stranger…
Thanks to Dielle and all at Igloo Music”
