Creative Choir Makes Original Music – join us this Saturday!
September 18, 2013After enjoying a summer of singing at lovely local public and private events, new members are being invited to Igloo Music’s unique and creative choir session to join an afternoon of singing in a welcoming and relaxed environment. The session is to take place at the Spring Arts and Heritage Centre in Havant on Saturday, 21st September.
The Igloo Choir perform their own songs which are written together as a group.
“The choir are just a group of ordinary people who love to sing and be creative – we have people from all walks of life, and many members who have not had any musical experience before. We teach what you need to know as we go along, so members learn from doing it” says Dielle Hannah, Igloo Choir Director, and Singer-Songwriter.
Adults of all singing levels are urged to come along as no previous experience is necessary; this is a place to learn group performance and a range of musical skills within the friendly group.
Many members, such as Hayley, child-care professional and mother of two, report that the monthly Igloo Choir rehearsal has lead to making new friends and boosting self confidence: “When I started I wouldn’t have sung in front of my family and now I can’t wait for all the public performances with the choir!! Great people, great atmosphere and a big part of me now.”
Vivienne, part-time teacher, says “I love the Igloo Choir and opportunity to share ideas, sing in harmony and perform. Dielle is an inspiration!”
As well as gigging this summer, the Igloo Choir were very excited to have started recording their first single Colourful Smile, a song written by ordinary members of the choir under the guidance of their director. “I’d never written songs before, but found it easy to join in and a lot of fun” says Carolyn, choir member from Hayling Island.
With a fantastic promotional offer of a 90% price discount for all new members; 4 hours for just £1.50, it’s an event that shouldn’t be missed for anyone with the desire to have a go. The session offers an afternoon of fun, a chance to meet new people, enjoy music and even improve confidence.
