Join and Jam Group

Our Join and Jam Group is focused on gaining playing experience in a relaxed environment, without the pressure of performances.

A wide range of songs and styles, guided by an expert tutor as well as taking suggestions from group members.

This fun group meets twice a month for an hour, to play together, gain the experience and enjoyment of playing with other musicians, without the commitment or pressure of preparing for performances. We learn new songs that continue to develop musicality and skill which is a great feeder group for the Igloo Band.

How good do I need to be to join?

Options of open chords, barre chords or lead parts are taught, and you can choose which part you want to play.

To get the most out of this group, we recommend you are able to strum open chords confidently before joining, and have perhaps completed some 1:1 sessions or our beginner courses before joining.

If you are not yet confident with open chords, please check out Strum 101 or personal coaching– after a few sessions of this you will be able to join Rock and Blues.

Group members can play ukulele, bass, electric or acoustic guitar. If you play electric, you will need to bring your own practice amp.

Many players who have come through this group have gone on to perform at Igloo events, join The Igloo Band to perform at public charity and community events.

You can join at any time, and stay as long as you wish.
