Private Music Theory Lessons
If you would like to understand what a 2 5 1 is, why a crotchet isn’t a quaver, how to put chord progressions together, or why the same note is more difficult to sing over a different chord, then try some music theory lessons. Now available weekdays and evenings at our Wickham workshop. You can be enlightened by music theory to help you understand the rules behind the music, in a fun, practical and empowering way. It’s not all exams and paperwork – this is the knowledge that turns a singer or player into a musician.
Tutor for Private Music Theory Lessons
Tutored by Chris Wood; Chris is a passionate, experienced musician, qualified and fun tutor. He explains concepts in bite sized terms, and is very patient. More information about Chris Wood here. This can also be used to get you up to entry level standard to take the Grade 5 Music Theory Course.

A good general understanding of the basic elements of music theory including:
- Notation in the treble & bass clefs
- Tones & semitones
- Time signatures
- Major & minor scales
- Major & minor keys
- Basic triads
